GroundWork Consulting was founded in 2023. From the outset, I was determined to build a company that offers a pure cost based approach to construction rather than design based approach.

“Just like excavating the ground is the initial stage during construction, establishing a budget is your first priority in planning a project”. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with international cost management firms with focus in real estate solutions and delivering construction projects on time and on budget. In this journey, I came to realize that many cost consultants are engaged through design firms and not directly through the owner which leaves the owner underrepresented and borders a conflict of interest. I also realized there was a need to manage projects from cradle to grave rather than engaging a cost consultant for a one time estimate and then leaving the cost management to their design firm.

I enjoy giving back to my profession and actively volunteers as a Board Member for the Newfoundland & Labrador Construction Safety Association (NLCSA) and Chair of the NL Chapter of Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors; where I focus on engaging with post secondary and high school students to expose quantity surveying as a profession.
